The HKU Innovation Holdings Limited (the “Company”) was set up by the University of Hong Kong in 2020 to provide a governance oversight of a number of subsidiary companies which focus on innovation-related research and development.
Applications are invited for the following positions (Ref no.: IHL/2022/08), on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.
Director of Business Development & Entrepreneurship
The appointee shall devise strategies and drive technology transfer and entrepreneurship activities, as well as start-ups launching and provision of various entrepreneurial support schemes, training, and advice; to proactively engage with different stakeholders; establish and operate platforms to foster successful entrepreneurship; and to implement strategic initiatives as specified by the management.
Senior Business Development Manager
The appointee will act as a designated contact person to work closely with the R&D Centres on identifying commercialisation and collaboration opportunities of the developed technologies, facilitating start-up incubation and spin-off companies activities, as well as keeping track of the progress of the commercialisation activities of the R&D Centres. A high level of cross-functional collaboration with multiple stakeholders with minimum supervision is required.
Job requirements of both positions
Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in STEM, preferably with a higher degree, with at least 10 years of work experience. Proven experience in commercialisation, or project management and technology transfer, or entrepreneurship is a must. Applicants should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua), good interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivation, strong work ethics, strong project management skills, keen interest in and deep knowledge of the development of innovation and entrepreneurship, and the ability to juggle multiple projects and shifting priorities in an organized manner.
There are two vacancies. The offer of job title will depend on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and exposure.
